Chapter 9: (Soul Pumpkin)

As the narrator spoke, the group yelped, flying around in the tornado while screaming.

Narrator: They tumbled through the sky like a self-made storm. It was the end of the four thousand year flight. From Egyptian crypts to English broom fields to French quarry works to Mexican bone yards.

The group flew through time and passed the artifacts representing the times they went through and finally, in the mouth of the jack o'lantern. At that moment, they finally arrived to a familiar city.

Narrator: They swooped home...once around the courthouse and twice around the pumpkin burning tree and the final time around the devil's temporary house, where dusks sifted out windows to greet.

Finally, the tornado appeared at the top of the house, with the tornado spinning rapidly around the area with the doorknob's mouth opening and window shutters clattering. Finally, the group, minus BL and Wheez, landed on the porch. When they got up, they noticed the lizard devil and weasel at the top, looking at them.

Wheez: And that, kiddies, is Halloween all rolled up in one!

BL: (grins) Night and day, summer and winter, life and death. Four thousand years ago, one hundred years, or this year. One place or another, the celebrations are all the same.

They got up, looking seriously with grins on their faces.

Mina: El Dia de los muertos.

Lita: Day of the Dead.

Amy: Feasts of ghosts.

Raye: All Hallow's Eve.

All: Halloween!

BL: (bows) I thank you for a most amusing and profitable evening.

Wheez: And after what you've done with your friend, boy I will never forget.

Just then, they heard the bells ringing from the clock tower.

Darian: But what about-

BL: Run, see for yourselves! The last rare trick or treat! Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!

Quickly, the girls, all out of the costumes and back in the normal garbs (though Raye was still in Miko clothing) all ran through the forest with Lita getting on the bike with the dogs in basket. Later, at the familiar city, the group ran passed by many houses while the bike ran over one bad pumpkin. As they passed by, they passed the decorations, not noticing the sick groaning people on the ground before finally arriving at the Tsukino residence.

Shirly: Hmmm, still no decorations.

Courage: Oooh, not good.

They walked slowly to the porch before noticing what appeared to be a familiar pumpkin on the rails.

Mina: Look, it's her pumpkin!

They grinned, looking at the pumpkin.

Raye: (grins) Whoa, she must be okay!

Darian: Serena...

Just then, they heard groaning with the light turning on. To their surprise and delight, they saw a familiar blond girl in pink pjs with pink bows on her hair going near the window.

Serena: (yawns) Hi guys.

Courage: Yay!

Lita: Serena!

Mina: You ARE alive!

Raye: Thank goodness.

Amy: Hooray!

The blond, yawning more, waved a bit.

Serena: They took my appendix out and for a while, I thought I was a goner. Huh. Imagine that.

The girls with tears in their eyes, smiled with joy as did Serena.

Serena: Everyone...I...I'm sorry I sold my soul to the devil just to give all of you a perfect Halloween.

Raye: Hey come on, Halloween's gonna be ALWAYS imperfect, but hey, there's no such thing as perfect, right?

Serena: (nods) Yeah...Anyway, thanks for everything.

Mina: (confused) Huh? What are you talking about? We didn't do anything.

Lita: Nothing!

Amy: Heck.

Raye: Gosh.

Serena: (smirks) Oh really? Is that so? Well, I had dreams about pyramids, Stonehenge, Paris and Mexico.

All: Huh?

Serena: And you were all there, even you, Darian...and I dreamt that our powers...were gone for good. That you sacrificed it all to save me.

Courage: (dryly) Riiiight. Dreamt they're all gone.

Serena: Like I said, thanks.

They laughed happily with joy in their eyes, shouting with rapid grins while the dogs, the only ones noticing, watched as they saw many formerly sick people (including Eustace & Muriel) starting to look normal, starting to get up before the former sick people looked confused, chattering and speaking with confusion.

Courage: Yay! They're all okay!

Shirly: Their powers may be gone, but it's worth it to bring Tokyo back to life...besides, staying here would've had bad consequences on us anyway.

Courage: Yeah...

As the narrator spoke, the group began leaving the area with the tired people getting up, then shrug before every person headed for home.

Narrator: Then a great wondrous happy tiredness gathers in their eyelids, and arms and feet. And the witch, and mummy, and monster and skeleton ran back to their own houses to remember this special night that they will never, in all their lives ever forget.

Back at the familiar mansion, as many pumpkins were shown, a pumpkin shaped like BL, the devil's pumpkin, was shown. The devil himself with Wheez came to the tower, looking seriously.

Wheez: Well, hey, at least we got their powers, thus we can see more chaos grow since the Sailor Scouts have lost every power they hold dearly.

BL: Yeees, and with these powers, they have yet to realize, they gave their very souls to us without realizing, EVEN the Meatball Headed Moon Princess! Ha-ha-ha-ha! I love it!

Voice: That is not entirely true, BL.

A figure appeared behind the two before they noticed a skeleton in black cloak holding a scythe called the Grim Reaper arriving.

BL: (hissing) What are you doing here?

Grim: I came to let you know one thing, before you two go back to Heck where you belong.

Wheez: Oh really? And what might that be?

The skeleton then made a document appear.

Grim: The contract on this states that for all eternity, the souls of the Silver Millenium and its residence are the true keepers of souls AND the fates of those souls.

BL: Meaning...?

Grim: So in other words, devil, the souls rightfully belong to Queen Serenity herself and NOT of yourself as of all they gave up to save their friend.

The devil began fuming in rage while shouting.

BL: WHAAAAAT?!

Grim: Now then...

He snapped his fingers, making all the items on BL and Wheez's hand vanish, shocking the two.

Grim: So in other words, YOU are in fault here. Had you not attempted to try taking a Moon Princess' soul like that, none of this would've happened.

Wheez: Uh, but hey, at least they learned.

However, the lizard growled in fury.

BL: Sooo...I gave them a chance and they ACTUALLY beat the devil!

The flames from his mouth almost came close to where Grim was before looking furious.

BL: Well, I learned my lesson. (enflamed) From now on...

Then, he was engulfed by flames.

BL: NO MORE MR. NICE GUY!!

As the narrator spoke next, the devil exploded like lava, making the winds gust and blow out his candle flame, transforming to dark fog, snatching the weasel as he yelped.

Narrator: The devil blew out one last candle, causing it to flicker and flare. The wind blew in and out the fresh cut mouth through the whispered song.

The yelping Grim ducked down as he shouted.

Grim: Just remember: I warned you!!

Wheez: (annoyed) Now you tell me!

Just then, Wheez was forcingly turned to fog when his pumpkin's light blew out while Grim vanished, sighing.

Grim: Demons...

Just then, as the narrator continued, the pumpkins all blew around and off the tree from the wind, being carried into the night sky.

Narrator: A thousand pumpkins were seized and blown into the sky. That is, all but one pumpkin. Sailor Moon's pumpkin, Princess Serenity's spirit and soul that was traded for and saved on that Halloween night so long ago...

Finally, dawn approached as the sun shone in the sky.
