As soon as Knuckles was completely underneath the ground, Sonic spoke.
Sonic: Okay, Rad Red, if that's the way you want to play it, let's go to the basics.
Sonic was about to head off to fight the red echidna, but his violet eyed pink hedgehog sibling stopped him.
Sonia: Sonic, wait. (looks at Knuckles) Maybe we can reason with him.
Sonic: Doubt it! Besides, I can handle him. (to Knuckles) Here's a taste of the Super Sonic Triple-spin, pal!
He spun past his sister as he headed toward where Knuckles was. When his spin collided into the hole Knuckles was, they both were hit, sending them both flying in the opposite direction.

Sonic & Knuckles both fell to the ground, both trying to get back up.

Manic: Aw, we knew you have it covered.
Bunnie: (helps Sonic up) Besides, looks like that echidna fella' was being protected on this hear island.

They turned to where Knuckles had landed, but he was no longer there.

They then heard a noise and saw Knuckles digging again, who was preparing to attack the group.
Manic: I would bet...not!
The pink hedgehog spoke as she got a little closer to him.
Sonia: (anger mark) Listen, Knux, we aren't here to steal anything! We're here to find Queen Aleena.
The red echidna then headed towards the group in the ground, but stopped a foot away from them.

The group then heard an earthquake as Sonic spoke to Sonia.

Sonic & Mina grabbed onto Manic, Sonia, Cream, Cheese, and Bunnie as they ran. That was when the ground bursted apart as Knuckles came out of the ground.
Knuckles: I've protected the Master Emerald all my life and I will not stoop to your level! You're lying!

The blue hedgehog used his spin attack on Knuckles once more. The red echidna gasped as the spin attack spun Knuckles around like a top. Sonic stopped and turned to the spinning Knuckles.
Sonic: (smirks) One more time.
Knuckles panted as he saw Sonic about to attack again. He glared as he dug a hole in the soil to avoid the next attack.
Sonic: (looking at the hole) Come back and fight, Red!
Knuckles' Voice: You're all liars & thieves!
He then heard digging to where Sonia & the others were standing.
Sonia: (looking impatient) That's it, I had enough.
Sonia touched her medallion and brought out her synthesizer. She fired the laser behind her towards a branch, close to Knuckles. It almost hit Knuckles as he sweatdrops.
Knuckles: (anger mark) Fine, if that's how you'll play it, then I'll make sure you never see the light of day again!
He then headed toward where a rope was tied up. He took out a pocket knife and cut the rope. The trap was activated as Knuckles dug toward the ground again. The trap slipped Manic, Sonia, Mina, Cream, and Bunnie.
All: Whoa!
Only Mina could hold on as the others fell.

Just then, he heard footsteps and hid. He then looked at where he once was and saw both Sleet & Dingo near the river. Sleet was holding the map as the wolf spoke.

Sleet then rowed toward the river as Ray jumped up the tree. He was a little concerned about what Sleet & Dingo were doing.
Ray: (thinking) Those must be the Sleet & Dingo that worked for the criminal, Don Weazo. I gotta make sure I get to the Master Emerald before they do!

Knuckles: (smirks) Now you, that bitch, and that damn Chao of yours are mine now, Blue!
As the three speeded away from Knuckles, the group avoided alot of the traps Knuckles had planted on Angel Island. Knuckles then held onto a rope of vines attached to a tree with boulders.
Knuckles: (thinking) If this doesn't stop them, nothing will...
He pulled the rope, letting the boulders fall. The three stopped as Sonic & his two allies tried to avoid the boulders. As the last of the rocks was done falling, Sonic smirked to the echidna.
Sonic: Come on, you can do better than that, Knux.
He narrowed at them as he ran toward them once more.
Mina: (to Knuckles) Besides, we're not done yet! You're taking us to our friends!
The three then headed out again in super speed with Sonic holding onto Mina & Cheese. Back in the cave, the group was amazed at how brightly the cave glowed as Manic spoke.

Sonia: Are you kidding? This light does nothing for my complexion!
Bunnie: (to Cream) Is she always like this?
She shrugged as they reached the end of the cave. Outside of it, the group noticed a river heading to the direction Ray, Sleet, and Dingo were.

Cream: I wonder if there are any Chao on this island...

Before she could finish, they heard a growling noise.

Back with Sleet & Dingo, the two passed a shrine, containing ancient carvings with echidnas on them. The Chaos (who were all curious) looked at the two, as they passed by.

Sleet sighed as took out another picture. That one contained a black devil-looking chao with Sleet & a bounty hunter rabbit. He sighed as he put the picture away.
Dingo: (gurgling) Thinking about Spectre, huh, Sleet?
Sleet: (glares) Dingo, mind your own business. Besides, we gotta concentrate on the Master Emerald, not my dead chao!
Little did they knew was that Ray was still following them from above ground.
Ray: If I know those two, they're probably up to something with the Chao as well...
