Sonic Underground Ep 10: Cataclysm Part 1 (Flying Fortress)
Prologue:
As seven jewels of the same shape, but seven different colors spun around the Master Emerald, a voice spoke.
Tikal: (narrating) "The servers are the seven Chaos..." that is how it began back in the days of older Mobius. There was a time when peace and prosperity came...
As she spoke next, an image from what looked like an Aztec ruin showed pictures of echidnas, then a huge monster destroying them.
Tikal: (narrating) Those that had conquered for greed had awakened a kind creature's anger and became a monster...
The last Aztec picture showed a young female echidna praying for the huge emerald.
Tikal: (narrating) I prayed to the Master Emerald to stop him...but at the cost of my life...now I am binded forevermore with the Master Emerald alongside with the creature...but I fear that if the seven emeralds come together with the Master Emerald...this would only be the beginning of the disaster that is to come...
Story:
Aleena: (narrating) When the sun is shining, and the day is beautiful, even the bravest of us need to get away from our troubles. But we must never forget that doom hangs above our heads...
Near what looked like a beach, Big caught a fish with his fishing pole, smiling.
Big: Yay! I got a fish, Froggy.
The frog croaked as Sonia with Bunnie were lying under the umbrella with swimsuits on.
Sonia: Ah, this is the life! Sun, surf...(puts on some sunblock) and no old Buttnik to worry about!
Bunnie: Yeah, we needed a lil' ole rest and relaxation...(notices something) huh?
A frisbee flew by them as Sonic rushed by them, not noticing the sand that came up going to them.
Sonia: (anger mark) Hey! You're getting me all gritty!
Sonic caught the frisbee, then threw it to the other side while Cream and Cheese, playing in the water with Julie-su and Mina, giggled. He yawned a little, waiting for the right moment as he smirked.
Sonic: Okay, gotta go!
He dashed off again to the other side, then caught the frisbee.
Sonic: Do I really think I can beat myself? Course I do! Try catching this one!
He tossed the frisbee extremely hard, then dashed to it again while Manic, meanwhile, was digging in the sand. He came back up, looking a bit exhausted.
Manic: Phew! (sees something) Jackpot! My day has just been made in the shade!
He then dug out what appeared to be money.
Manic: Can you dig it; two Mobiums!
He then saw Sonic rushing toward him.
Manic: Ahh!
He ducked as Sonic came, then stopped when he saw the huge sandcastle.
Sonic: Fan-cy!
He then got hit by the frisbee.
Sonic: Hey! Who's the wise guy? Oh yeah, I'm the wise guy!
All that while Knuckles, looking seriously at the sky, just sighed as Ray, about to come with a bag of food, noticed something about him.
Ray: Something wrong, Knuckles?
Knuckles: Sorry...I know I should relax...but I worry day and night about both the Master Emerald and my mom.
Ray: Look, it's okay to miss them, but right now, relax. Besides, I'm sure that everything's going to be all right. I mean what can possibly ruin a day such as this?
Then, the shadows covered the beach as they looked confused.
Big: Huh?
Sonic: Okay, who turned out the lights?
Cheese looked up, then was shocked as of Sonia.
Cheese: Chao!
Sonia: Uh-oh...something tells me we've got a Buttnik on the horizon!
Knuckles: (anger mark) Ray, you and your big mouth!
They then saw a huge round fortress with two windows to appear like eyes as it fired.
Sonic: Bail, guys!
The group jumped out of the way as Knuckles noticed something about the lasers.
Knuckles: Strange...that ray is...familiar.
They gasped as they saw the sandcastle destroyed.
Remington: Looks like our vacation's just been sand-blasted!
Manic: (Chibi smiles) Well, at least it's not a total loss!
He showed the banknote and Mobiums as they glared.
Cyrus: Put that down, Manic.
Sonia: (points to the fortress) Heads up! They're getting ready to fire again!
Inside the fortress, Robotnik glared at the monitor showing the Freedom Fighters as he spoke to his four lackeys.
Robotnik: Prepare more lasers for the Death Egg and blast Sonic and his siblings back to the pre-Mobian age! HA-HA-HA-HA!
Robots: Yes sir!
Bocoe and Decoe fired as they dodged.
Robotnik: And while at it, get the last Chaos Emerald that's in this area. Ha-ha-ha!
They nodded as Decoe pressed the "grappling hook" button. While the hook was digging outside the fortress called the "Death Egg", Sleet smirked at the situation.
Sleet: Excellent shooting your rotundness. Dingo and I should have no trouble scooping up those hedgehogs for you while you get the emerald!
Robotnik: Oh, why bother? My Fortress of Altitude aka the Death Egg can take care of a trio of troublesome fighters without your help!
He gulped while the fortress fired more. Down below, they continued to dodge the lasers.
Sonic: We'd better grab the van and vamoose outta here!
They nodded as they quickly head to the van. As they were entering the van, Knuckles noticed the hook grabbing what looked like a green emerald of some sort.
Knuckles: (thinking) A Chaos Emerald?
He shrugged it off as the echidna was in the van. They then drove away from the area while dodging the lasers and into the forest.
Sonic: This forest ought to give us some protection: no way they can see us under these trees!
The Death Egg followed as it was shooting the whole forest, destroying parts of it. Mina glared as she with Sonia got out.
Mina: That's it! Nobody messes with the forest!
Sonia: That's right!
The others came out as the hedgehogs brought their instruments out. They began firing on the fortress. Unfortunately for them, it had no affect on it.
Sonic: Whoa - the armor on that thing must be solid Mobidindum!
Remington: Mobidindum? That weighs so much! How can he make it fly?
Knuckles: It has something to do with that Chaos Emerald I found earlier.
Cream: Chaos Emerald...like in the legends?
He nodded, then looked at it.
Manic: What does he want with one small emerald anyway?
Sonic: Maybe it's time we find out just what makes that Buttnik ugly-thing tick!
The blue hedgehog got on the tree, then the group held onto the limb as Bunnie spoke.
Bunnie: Ready for launch!
Manic: Blast off!
Sonic was catapulted up to the fortress. Up above, he landed into of the cannon. Inside the fortress, Sonic spun out of the end of the cannon and into the fortress as a Swatbot saw him.
Sonic: Hey, get a load of this!
He shoved the Swatbot into the cannon as a small bell-like robot watched. He shut the door before the robot could get out as Robotnik's voice shouted.
Robotnik's Voice: FIRE!
The Swatbot was fired out and it exploded. While inside, Sonic looked around the fortress as he spoke.
Sonic: If I could just find the energy reactor to this jalopy, then I could stop Buttnik in his tracks! (stops and looks at the hallway) Hmm...now, if I were a reactor, where would I be?
He then smirked and headed to the middle. Unfortunately for him, he went back the way he started and stopped.
Sonic: Must have taken a wrong turn...
He dashed through the next hall, heading through every hall. Meanwhile, in the main control room, Sleet and Dingo were watching the monitor with the hedgehog in blur form trying all the halls and ending up in the same room.
Sleet: What is that blurry camera on Deck 212? (is pushed) Hey!
Dingo: Maybe it's busted!
Bocoe: Negative.
Decoe: That is where you're wrong...it must be defective.
Robotnik: (to Decoe) Maybe you're defective: my fortress is perfect! It must be...I designed it myself!
Sleet: (whispering) That explains the round shape!
The huge bounty hunter giggled, confusing the robots and human.
Robotnik: What are you laughing about?
Sleet: (sweatdrops) Uh, nothing, sir!
Then, on the monitor, the wolf saw the blurry Sonic dashing again.
Sleet: It's blurry again!
They turned and saw nothing on the screen, then Robotnik glared with anger.
Robotnik: You must be seeing things, but just to show you what a nice guy I am, (walks to a panel) we'll just do a little house-cleaning...just in case!
He pressed the button as he continued.
Robotnik: I designed my fortress with an invincible defense system: watch, and learn!
They gasped as they then turned to the screen. They then saw a huge rainbowish colored energy heading to where Sonic was. It then went to a Swatbot as it disintegrated in seconds, making the four watching afraid. With Sonic, he stopped as he heard a noise.
Sonic: That doesn't sound friendly...
Sonic looked as he gasped and saw the energy coming toward him.
Sonic: Yipes! It looks even worse!
He dashed quickly, trying to outrun the energy field. Sonic then looked shocked as he saw the end of the hallway.
Sonic: Uh-oh! Dead end!
He stopped and turned to the energy.
Sonic: (spinning) How about a little Sonic Super Spin?
He super spinned toward the energy, but it only pushed him out of the fortress, making Sonic fall from the air as the energy shot out of the Death Egg. Then, Sonic looked down and gasped.
Sonic: AAAAHHH! Out of the frying pan and into mid-air!
Sonic fell toward the forest as Manic saw his brother.
Manic: Huh?
Then, he grabbed his board and looked at the others, then to Sonic.
Manic: I'll get you bro!
He flew toward Sonic as he smiled.
Sonic: (smiles) Manic! Goin' my way, bro?
Manic stopped as Sonic landed on him. They then headed back to the forest together.
Manic: Hang 20, bro!
As they air rode toward the van, the green hedgehog looked at his brother.
Manic: You finished fast. Did you disable that tin-can?
Sonic: (looks back) Uh...not exactly.
Then, the Death Egg opened as flying Swatbots came out and flew after the siblings.
Sonic: And we've got company!
