Chapter 6: The West Wing

Meanwhile, back at the bedroom door, a familiar voice cleared his throat, awakening the two robots. There, they saw a frowning giant mouse before yelping.

Both: AHHHH!! Don't do that!

Mouse King: Sleeping on the job?

Grounder: Hey, guarding the door's boring. I mean, after all, we could be doing dishes instead of that.

Scratch: And work like labored robots? Forget that! (looks back) Maybe it's time we talk to the people inside.

The fat mouse only sighed.

Mouse King: All right, you can do this. Don't lose your temper if she refuses.

The mouse knocked once, however there was no response. He knocked again. However, there was still no response.

Grounder: Maybe they're heavy sleepers.

Scratch: I guess we shouldn't have been rough on that mouse and duck, huh?

Grounder: Yeah...

The three began to leave slowly. At the hall with the suit of armor, Mouser was explaining while Basil, whom he was not paying attention to, only mouthed on what he was saying, much to their amusement with the robotic dog following the robots and four non-robots.

Mouser: As you can see, the pseudo facade was stripped away to reveal a minimalist rococo design.  Note the unusual inverted vaulted ceilings.  This is yet another example of the neo-classic baroque period, and as I always say, if it's not baroque, don't fix it!

He chuckled for a moment.

Mouser: Now, where was I?

He then noticed the mechanical suits of armor looking at where Minnie and her friends were, much to his annoyance.

Mouser: As you were!

The heads all snapped back to face forward.

Mouser: (turning back) Now, if I may draw your attention to the flying buttresses above the-

However, he noticed the four were gone.

Mouser: Huh? Madames? Sir? Where is everyone?

Basil: (ponders) I believe they went off near the West Wing.

Mouser: (nods) Oh, that's good.

However, the two realized in horror.

Both: THE WEST WING!?

Quickly, they rushed off to find them, with the robotic dog following. With Minnie's group, Daisy looked concerned.

Daisy: Minnie, I don't think we should go over there.

Minnie: I'm not going to listen to a giant mouse, and besides, I'm curious.

Tigress: We're just stating a word of precaution.

Po: Uh, yes...and he uh, did say not to go there.

As he spoke that, three familiar figures were heading to the West Wingo. However, the trio looked at the four at the steps before realizing.

Grounder: Huh? Why are they sleep walking?

Scratch: They're not sleep walking, you dolt! And if they get into the West Wing, I blame you.

Grounder: (frowns) Awww! I always get the blame.

Mouse King: Just come on!

He dragged the two quickly to the other direction. As Minnie almost neared the steps, the two robots quickly blocked her path, smiling nervously.

Daisy: Okay, we'll bite. What's going on?

Mouser: Uh-nothing. Absolutely nothing at all in the West Wing. Dusty, dull, very boring.

Minnie: (grins) Oh, so that's the West Wing.

Daisy: Well...one peek wouldn't hurt.

Basil: (hits him) Thanks alot.

Minnie began walking up toward the steps.

Minnie: Now, what could he be hiding up there?

However, the robots blocked them again.

Basil: He's not hiding anything.

Po: Uh, if it's nothing, why would it be forbidden?

Tigress: Po!

They were only blocked more.

Basil: Perhaps, my dear, you would like to see something else, of course?

Daisy: Eh, maybe later.

The four tried again, but were blocked, much to Tigress' annoyance.

Basil: (desperately) What about the gardens or the library?

Minnie: (smiles) You have a library?

Mouser: Yes, indeed.

Basil: With books.

Mouser: Gads of books.

Basil: Mountains of books.

Mouser: Forests of books.

Basil: Cascades...

Mouser: Of books.

Basil: Swamps of books!

Mouser: More books than you can ever imagine.

The robots with the dog following began heading out as Mouser conitnued.

Mouser: Books on every subject ever studied, by every author who ever set pen to paper...

Minnie began following them, though she stopped.

Daisy: Well? Aren't you going?

Minnie: But I really wanted to see the West Wing first, even before I sang my song, when he first mentioned it, I desperately wanted to go there most of all.

Tigress: I see...

When the robots were gone, the four walked up tot he steps, then down a long, dark corridor, with Po shivering a bit. They passed broken statues, a broken mirror with concern and finally neared the end. There, they saw the door handle with what appeared to be a sneering face.

Daisy: Great, something I didn't want to see.

Minnie: Oh, come on. I'm sure it doesn't mean anything.

Tigress only sighed before pulling the door opened. Inside, the four looked as they saw a complete mess. There, they saw many pieces of old cheese, broken nutcracker toys, a crushed picture of a gray female mouse, and a mantle with what appeared to be a gold keyblade on it.

Po: Whoa...a keyblade? I didn't know he had a keyblade.

Tigress: You think he'd had a little time cleaning up.

Minnie then turned, noticing a picture of three figures. One was a black mouse in red shorts, one was a white duck in a sailor suit, and one was a black dog with what appeared to be a goofy expression, though their faces were covered by the slashes while Minnie looked at the mouse one.

Minnie: Hmmm...

Then, she noticed something shimmering. The four turned, noticing the rose inside the glass case. They slowly walked to it before Minnie took the jar off. However, before she could touch it, she gasped, noticing the Mouse King, a few feet from her, glaring and snorting.

Minnie: Ahhh!

They jumped away from the giant pouncing mouse, who placed the jar back on the rose. He then glared angrily to Minnie, who looked fearful to him.

Mouse King: (glares) Why did you come here?

Minnie: (frightened) I'm sorry.

Daisy: We didn't mean to-

Mouse King: I warned you for to never come here!

Po: (gulps) We only go curious!

Tigress: We don't mean any harm.

He then grabbed Minnie's wrist furiously.

Mouse King: Do you even know what you could've done!? (shoves her) Get out!

With fury, he knocked a few empty tables as he roared in anger. Po, yelping, grabbed Tigress, who was wanting to fight him. as he with Minnie ran.

Mouse King: GET OUT!!!

The robots, peeking behind the door, noticed them running before Daisy stopped, glaring at the robots.

Daisy: Fine, we'll leave all right! And just to be sure, we're never coming back...EVER!!

Scratch: (worried) Wait, come back!

The two robots only looked worried as the four were gone. When the mouse was done, he looked at where Minnie and the others once were. His anger turned to grief before he sat down, sighing sadly.

Mouse King: (singing) And in my twisted face...
There's not the slightest trace
Of anything that even hints at kindness
And in my tortured shape
No comfort, no escape

The mouse then stood up while the robots watched.

Mouse King: (singing) I see, but deep within is utter blindness
Hopeless
As my dream dies
As the time flies
Love's a lost illusion
Helpless
Unforgiven
Cold and driven
To this sad conclusion

He looked at himself in the mirror and sighed.

Mouse King: (singing) No beauty could move me
No goodness improve me
No power on earth, if I can't love her
No passion could reach me
No lesson could teach me
How I could have loved her and make her love me too
If I can't love her, then who?

He walked over to the portrait the four saw earlier, looking at it.

Mouse King: (singing) Long ago I should have seen
All the things I could have been
Careless and unthinking I moved onward

He climbed to the top spire of the castle, standing on the top, singing in a powerful tone.

Mouse King: (singing) No pain could be deeper
No life could be cheaper
No point anymore if I can't love her
No spirit could win me
No hope left within me
Hope I could have loved her
And that she'd set me free
But it's not to be
If I can't love her
Let the world be done with me!

The robots watching only sniffed sadly before Grounder blew his nose onto Scratch's arm.

Scratch: Yuck, you dumb bot. Don't ruin the moment!

Grounder: I was in tears, what was I suppose to do?

Scratch: (slaps his forehead) Oy.

Back with the four, Minnie's group rushed down the staircase in the foyer, past Basil and Mouser.

Basil: Wait, where are you going?

Minnie: Promise or no promise. I can't stay here another minute!

She opened the door as the snow blew in.

Mouser: (worried) No, please! Wait!

It was too late as the door shut behind them. Out in the forest, Minnie with Daisy rode on Cyril, heading home with the other two following.

Tigress: You could have let me taken him on.

Po: Sorry, we panicked.

Just then, the four noticed the Houndour in front of them.

Daisy: Uh oh...

The Pokemon dogs started chasing them through the woods as the two girls and panda screamed in fear. Finally, Cyril and Po tripped, falling to the ground before the Kung Fu Warriors lost consciousness.

Daisy: Po! Tigress!

One of the Houndour lunged toward Cyril, but Minnie whacked the wolf away with a huge branch. As a few more came near them, Daisy gasped in fear, trying to whack them with Minnie wildly. However, they tripped, landing near their friends before the canines slowly approached them.

Both: AHHHH!!

One of the Houndour lunged before a voice shouted.

Voice: BARRIER!

The one lunging at Daisy was bounced away while another Houndour was hit by a shield. The third one lunging toward Minnie was caught by a familiar mouse, roaring to its face before tossing it away. Then, he brought out his sword as Grounder picked up the shield and Scratch came near them, holding a wand.

Daisy: You...you came.

Scratch: Come on, at least in this parody, we get to do something worth while.

Grounder: (notices) Look out!

The fat mouse quickly slashed at some of them with Scratch using a fire spell to make some of the dog Pokemon jump away. Grounder twirled, hitting a few while more of the Houndour not injured bit parts of the mouse.

Mouse King: GRAH!!

The trio continued fighting as Po and Tigress, awakening, watched in shock. The remaining frightened Houndour quickly ran off. As soon as they were gone, the four looked at the three, with them looking back at them. The mouse was bleeding from his claw marks with Scratch and Grounder only having damage on their arm and leg each.

Grounder: (groaning) Owie....

The three fell face flat each on the snow. Minnie looked away to the road. However, she looked back at the Mouse King, who lifted his head and sadly looked at him with tears.

Daisy: Come on, Minnie. We gotta go.

Minnie: You can go if you want...but I'm staying.

Daisy: Are you sure?

Minnie: They came to save us...that means...they do care for us.

Tigress: (smiles) It seems that way.

Po: Yeah, and they kicked butt, too.

The female mouse placed her coat onto the fallen mouse.

Daisy: (sighs) Fine, you win.

The group began to head back with the wounded robots on the horse, and Po carrying the heavy mouse. Later, in the parlor, Sawyer poured some hot water in a bowl before Minnie took the towl out of the water, ringing it before looking at the mouse holding his arm.

Minnie: Here, now. (notices) Oh, don't do that.

He growled to her, with almost all, but the two robots still bed ridden, backing away. Minnie kept trying to reach the wound with the towel.

Minnie: Oh, just hold still.

She placed it onto the clawed arm before the fat mouse roared in pain, prompting almost everyone, but the two, to hide.

Mouse King: GRAAAAHHHH! (angrily) That hurts!

Minnie: (frowns) Well, if you hold still, it wouldn't hurt as much!

Mouse King: If you hadn't run away, this wouldn't have happened!

Minnie: (angrily) Well, if YOU hadn't frightened me, I wouldn't have run away!

He prepared to speak, but thought for a moment before glaring his red eyes to her.

Mouse King: (snaps) Well, YOU and your buddies shouldn't have been in the West Wing!

Minnie: (snaps) Well, YOU should learn to control your temper!

The group came out of hiding before Daisy looked at Scratch.

Daisy: I think he's not the only one that needs temper control.

Scratch: That's the thanks I get?! Oh, thanks alot.

Tigress: Well, arguements aside, everyone's all right.

Po: You two robots sure you don't feel much?

Grounder: Of course not. We're robots after all. We can take on pain. (groans) Owie...

Minnie and the king both looked at one another before their eyes turned to the wounded arm.

Minnie: Now, hold still. This may sting a little.

The fat mouse turned away, clenching his eyes and bit his lip while Minnie cleaned the mark, looking at him.

Minnie: Oh, by the way...thanks for saving my life.

His opened his eyes, turning toward her. Everyone looked as the king became more calm to her.

Mouse King: (calmly) You're welcome.
